Hardcore, HardHouse, & Hardstyle/HardTrance are my favorite genres to play with. When selecting trax I listen for deep, dark, hard, and fast beats. That's why these three styles fit my personallity perfectly. The DJ's who have altered my original style are Lisa Lashes/HardHouse, Mannchild & Delta 9/Hardcore, and Thomas Trouble & Blutonium Boy/Hardstyle & HardTrance.

My original style was a combination of Cosmic gate, Darude, DJ Tiesto, Voodoo & Serano, and Derb.

Lisa Lashes was my introduction into HardHouse. When I heard the euphoria CD I had to find out what kind of music it was. I think that's when I was lovestuck by HardHouse

Cosmic Gate & Blutonium Boy trax were being played on a local weekend radio show called The Dance Factory. I prolly drove the two DJ's who ran the show right fuckin' nuts figureing out the names of my favorite trax. thanx DJ NVEE & DJ Wicked.

Hardcore is something I stumbled onto well after I started mixing hardstyle. I didn't know such a sound existed until I Went to a local Hardcore party and met Mannchild from The Hardmind Crew. He gave my friend a CD and I have been in love with hardcore ever since. First hardcore CD I ever owned was Delta 9 - Revolution 909. That made the sittuation worse. I started looking for trax from the same artists on the CD and people they have done trax with. After that, I realized I just fell into a whole new world I never knew was there.

I have been mixing trax for about 5 years now and I have to say practice makes for great improvment, but it takes years and years and an insane amount of practice before you really get the feel for the music, time & match beats on the go. If I had one piece of advice for anyone looking into mixing trax or producing, I would say practice and practice, then practice some more. When you get tired of it, practice again. It also helps to have understanding neighbors for those late night practices. I'm always coming up with new beats I just have to lay them down into a playable format.
