AgentRied was introduced to dance music by his older brother in the early 90s and first started buying records in 1994. Inspired by local boys, DJ Knuck and The Prodigy this varied wildly from hardcore breakbeat through jungle and into the realms of bass heavy dance music of any kind. After attending his first rave in 95, Babel Vs Inside Out at First Base In Wolverhampton, instantly fell in love with the thriving techno scene in the midlands and spent many weekends for the next few years travelling from Essex to free parties organised by Helious, Atomic Jam, House Of God and countless other sound systems. Regular exposure to DJs like Duncan Disorderly, Surgeon, Sub Head, and Paul Damage rocking the dance floor quickly refined his taste into dirty techno with a twist of acid. He also got into house music in a big way after witnessing Farley Jack Master Funk and Marshall Jefferson destroy the dance floor with infectious house grooves for a solid 8 hours in the late 90s. Playing a mixture of house and trance he teamed up with pal, DJ XL to host a series of house and trance parties at pubs in Chelmsford through 2000/2001. However struggling to find opportunities to play the underground beats he does in his home town with only three commercial clubs, he relocated to London in 2003 in search of better opportunities. After meeting his partner in grime, Giles, in Portugal in the summer 2004 a close friendship developed surrounding a love of cheap booze in vast quantities and filthy bass lines, leading to him warming up for Giles on the wheels of Steel at the last two of the legendary All Good parties in Brixton. 2004 also saw a return to the midlands to play for the first time with the Work Sound system. After taking a break to develop the concept with Giles and plan a new venture, PLUB was conceived in spring of 2005 and a string of successful parties have followed through 2005 including off shoot night, Sssssshhhh!!! embracing tech house, breaks, extremely wonky techno, grimecore, minimal techno and putting them all together in one room. 2006 has been a busy one so far having co presented several PLUB club nights with the Detached crew at the legendary Telegraph in Brixton, DJing for The Work Soundsystem, Undercover, and many others. Plans ahead include dates with Detached, Work Soundsystem, and another Ssssssshhhh!!! Party arranged for the 29th September – details to follow..
